Meet Doc Amy

Dr. Amy Doofenbaker, better known as “Doc Amy”, graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (O.V.C.) with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) in 1991 after completing a B.Sc. from the University of Guelph in 1989.

After practicing at small animal clinics for several years, Doc Amy was driven by her passion for veterinary medicine and desire to offer high quality veterinary care and opened her small animal mobile practice in 1997. She feels lucky to drive around the beautiful countryside of Grey Bruce and take care of beloved animal companions.  Tending to pets in the peace and serenity of their own home is less stressful for pets and more convenient for owners.  House calls provide time to chat with clients and build an old fashioned bond with clients and their pets.

To stay up to date Doc Amy attends a variety of conferences and lectures and does continuing education by webinars and online courses.  Doc Amy has a special interest in cats and is a member of the Cornell Feline Health Center and is Feline Friendly certified by the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

When not working, Doc Amy enjoys nature photography, skiing, painting and reading, especially about arctic exploration and polar bears.  Doc Amy shares her home with her feline companion Spencer.
